16th century technique with 21st century technology

September 12, 2016

The first digital camera was invented in 1975, by one of the greatest players in camera history, Kodak.

As Kodak in later years couldn't keep up with the changes from film to digital, the development of the digital photography is also what tipped this giant.

Looking back even further, the first camera, a pinhole camera, was first used more than 400 years ago, and the way pictures are being taken today is still based on this ancient technology.

Something that has intrigued me for a while now, is to combine these two, into a digital pinhole camera.

Seeing from my selfie below, I need to work on getting the image sharper, and most likely for portraits, to use additional light sources, as sitting completely still for 30 seconds is bit difficult.
